what if

i was absolutely perfect just the way i am.
roll with me for a sec.

if i had nothing to master, strive for, or attain, where exactly would that leave me .. knowing that i already am enough.

eg ..

i love playing music.

i could succumb to the notion that i can’t play music properly. that there is a proper way to do it.

a flow to be had, a way to learn.

and until i had learned-ded it, i wouldn’t never be completely competent in that genre.
i would probably need to spend a large sum of money to attain this attainment, some kind of degree or something, so a large wad of debt perhaps ..
then maybe i could play music.
maybe.
but what if all i needed was

love for it.

wouldn’t that make me competent already.
how and when i play music isnt really the point ay.

i can push play
i got ears to hear.
toes to tap.
hips to swing
doesn’t that make me competent enough.

.
Now take that theory and lay it over everything we’ve ever been taught about achieving and attaining shit.

The End.

  1. Exactly! The need to strive for more, and more, and more is killing us and our planet. My job is all about this, we have to force some kids to learn to read, but others learn because they love the concept of reading and put the time in voluntarily. The kids who don’t need to be pushed are always happier and a joy to teach, why do we push so hard on the rest? Maybe we need to wait until they are ready.

    • Ae I reckon too .. & was always of the opinion that we didn’t all learn the same ways .. eg me & others I knew, all learnt to play the guitar by watching .. none of us could read music or understand that whole thang lol but we could still play ;)

And that strive .. I don’t completely understand it at the mo .. still unpacking my own drive or strive such as it is lol but the need to be more, achieve more .. more more more is ridiculous ..

My guess is the capitalism wheel is what keeps the strive and drive going … Imagine if noone bought shit lol whew

say something ...
